Mickey Mouse Was the Original Creator. Now He's Finally on TikTok.

Let's be honest: Walt Disney was doing the creator economy before it had a name. One mouse, one voice, one relentless content calendar since 1928. Mickey didn't need a ring light he had a whole studio.

Ninety-eight years later, the empire he built just made its biggest creator move yet. Disney and TikTok announced a first of its kind deal letting TikTok creators remix scenes and characters from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and FX with the best fan-made clips streaming straight to Disney+ under a new "Verts" tab.

For the first time, TikTok content will live on another major platform.

Translation: the app built on 15-second chaos just got Disney's blessing to play in its sandbox and Disney, in turn, gets to look cool in front of Gen Z without lifting a paintbrush.

It's a quiet full-circle moment. The man who drew a mouse by hand is now handing that mouse over to millions of creators with phones and good editing instincts. Mickey started it. TikTok scaled it.

Somewhere, Walt is either thrilled or reaching for the copyright lawyers. Possibly both.
