Tom of Finland: Highway Patrol, Greasy Rider, and Other Selected Works features collages and drawings by the iconic artist. At the center of the exhibition is a full suite of impeccably rendered drawings from the series Kake vol. 21 – “Greasy Rider” (1978) and Kake vol. 22 – “Highway Patrol” (1980).

When the Queen of Burlesque Dita Von Teese was preparing for her Glamonatrix tour, she took a few days to pour over Tom’s work and the Foundation collection. Working with her creative team, including photographer Albert Sanchez, Dita found just the image she wanted to replicate for her promotional photoshoot.

In commemoration of the exhibition TOM OF FINLAND: Highway Patrol, Greasy Rider, and Other Selected, David Kordansky Gallery will release the publication Tom of Finland: Threesome in conjunction with the opening. Threesome will encompass numerous exhibitions presented by DKG since 2015.

Starting off 2023 in New York, David Kordansky Gallery presents a new exhibition of work by Tom of Finland. Including myriad works from the Kake series of graphic novels, the exhibition will present both collage and drawing artworks of Tom’s. This will shine a light on his process of rendering images through a variety of media along the way.

This time around, Carta Monir will be reading from an in-progress body of work that represents her most vulnerable writing to date, followed by pain performances where she will bottom for Skye Novaya and the legendary dominatrix Sheree Rose. This is not for the faint of heart, so attendees should please be proactive in taking care of yourself when engaging with this performance.
