Partner of the Month
Young Scientist Academy
YSA had an exciting year with their first Youth CAUSE Summit. Findings were later presented to the Wilmington City Council, and several YSA girl ambassadors went on to present at the Women’s Impact Network. Code Ninas worked to develop a new and interactive app, and Sidewalk Scientists, in conjunction with CAM, learned how patina and smog form. This video captures the highlights from the year and we look forward to seeing how the future shapes up for these impressive young scientists. Registration for 2022 programs are available. Never stop exploring.

Help Hub
Emergency Assistance Walk in Hours T-Th 9-12
Nurse Care Manager onsite during open hours
Volunteer Training March 7, 8:30AM
In 2021, the Help Hub staff and volunteers met more than 1,200 neighbors, devoting thousands of hours to greet, listen, advise, enter data and ultimately provide reassurance and hope. We are grateful to our 60+ volunteers who, with a kind word and smile behind every mask, assured we met urgent needs and provided valuable resources. With great faith (always!), we received generous donations from our community that would assure these needs were met. Truly, remarkable, that as donations came in, so to did critical need. By year's end, we invested more than $250,000 in our neighbors' well being.
As Sonja and volunteers launch into the new year, they are supported with a dedicated Help Hub assistant, Alisa Brightman. Together, all continue to make themselves available for January shifts, even with the unpredictability of Omicron. We are grateful.
2021 was another interesting year, requiring intense adaptability and scrutiny. Yet, every one-on-one moment with neighbors reminds us of our reason for being.
