MAYOR'S UPDATE

From the desk of Mayor Rika Levin

Thank you for being an essential part of the Project Mover E-Bikeshare Pilot. As we wrap up this pilot phase on December 9th, we’re grateful for your ridership and engagement, which have provided valuable insights and strengthened the foundation for an exciting future in 2025.

This year, you joined a community of 564 riders and counting who collectively took over 1,151 trips that covered 1,567 miles!

Next year promises to be a big step forward! Project Mover will expand our bikeshare program to several surrounding communities and add new locations to the 11 sites in the Village of Ossining today. It also plans to introduce two new programs: an E-Bike Library and E-Bike Ownership Pathway Program. These two additions aim to offer even more ways for residents to enjoy flexible, sustainable transportation.

This Pilot’s success was made possible with your participation and the collaboration of our dedicated team—Drop Mobility, Nelson\Nygaard, CityFi, InnoEnergy, the Village of Ossining, and Shared Mobility Inc.

Over the winter, you can stay in touch with up-to-date information regarding Project Mover by checking Facebook, where we'll keep you updated on our plans for a dynamic relaunch in Spring 2025.

If you'd like to share feedback on the e-bikeshare, please reach out to support@projectmoverbikeshare.com—we’d love to hear from you.

Please join us at the Village's annual tree lighting in Market Square next Friday, December 6th, beginning at 6:00 PM! As always, there will be Hot Chocolate, Coffee and Cookies.

This law includes new provisions relating to the intention of the Village of Ossining Board of Trustees to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of the community by authorizing the prohibition of smoking and vaping on Village-owned property as well as the establishment of procedures for the operation of drones throughout the Village.

First, smoking and vaping are prohibited in the following places within the Village of Ossining:

Next, the operation of drones. Drones (or unmanned aircraft) are strictly prohibited unless written express permission is obtained from an individual or property owner to film for the collection, retention, or dissemination of surveillance data at locations where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy unless written express permission is obtained from the individual property owner or manager. There is so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving. Every day, I am thankful for everything our elected officials, volunteers, community leaders, and Village staff do to make the Village of Ossining thrive all year round. I am grateful to be your mayor.

I wish everyone in our community a joyful holiday – filled with new and old traditions that make your family's holiday special. Have a very happy Thanksgiving!

There is no Village Work Session this week due to the holiday. Our next meeting will be a Legislative Meeting on Wednesday, December 4th, at Birdsall-Fagan Police Court Facility.
