Ride Together Pierce - Year in Review

Happy New Year from Ride Together Pierce! Our role in Pierce County is to make traveling easier for all road users. We work with large employers, community organizations and other Pierce County departments to promote sustainable transportation options around the County. We appreciate everyone's participation in our programs and are excited to share our 2025 highlights with you.

Walk and Roll Through the Holidays

As we approach the end of holiday season, check out Ride Together Pierce's “Walk and Roll Through the Holidays” guide for the last few holiday-themed events that are easily accessible by sustainable travel, such as carpool, walk, bike, or transit.

New "Rider Rewards" Campaign is Here

Ride Together Pierce's new “Rider Rewards” campaign will award one sustainable commuter with a $150 gift card each month! All you have to do is take 10 sustainable one-way trips (or 5 round trips) a month and log your trips on the trip calendar to automatically enter the prize drawing.

To enter the January prize drawing, be sure to take and log your sustainable trips by Friday, February 7.

Join the Free "Emergency Ride Home" Program

If you are a sustainable commuter, you always have a guaranteed way home through Ride Together Pierce's "Emergency Ride Home" (ERH) program, which provides Lyft vouchers to anyone who commutes sustainably to a worksite in Pierce County in the case of an emergency.

What counts as a sustainable commute? Walking, biking, riding transit (bus, train, light rail), or riding in a carpool or vanpool.

To participate in the program, sign up through the Ride Together Pierce trip calendar under "Rewards". Once opted in, you will receive three ERH credits to use each calendar year.

Save the Date for the Bike Swap

Ride Together Pierce is excited to announce that the 15th Annual Pierce County Bike Swap will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Tacoma Community College, Lot A (parking lot facing S 19th Street).

If you bought a new bike over the holidays, the kids are outgrowing their bikes, or want something new-to-you, consider coming to the Pierce County Bike Swap to buy and/or sell bikes, parts, and accessories. It's like a big yard sale, but all about bikes!

Engagement Opportunities

Puget Sound Regional Council's Draft Regional Transportation Plan

Puget Sound Regional Council released their Draft Regional Transportation Plan for public comment through February 2. The Plan will act as a blueprint for the central Puget Sound’s future transportation system, and your input will help determine transportation infrastructure priorities across the region.

How Do You Ride?

“Riding the bus gives me an excuse to get outside in the morning for a nice walk to the easily accessible (for me at least) #1 route on Pierce Transit. While on the bus, I get ample opportunity to see any changes happening in my community since I do not have to have my eyes glued to just the cars in front and next to me. Finally, and this builds off that last point I made, bus life reduces stress as I can zone out to music or listen to a podcast and actually listen to what the host is talking about because I don’t have to worry about the traffic around me."
