Brooklyn, NY – December 6, 2023. The National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) appointed Marlo Robinson, DNP, JD, RN, CD (DONA), as National League for Nursing (NLN) Consultant to the NSNA Board of Directors (BOD). In her new role, Dr. Robinson will provide exceptional guidance and mentorship to future nursing leaders. Her role will be pivotal in shaping the next generation of nurses and contributing to the advancement of the nursing profession as a whole.

Dr. Robinson is the National Dean of Nursing at Concorde Career Colleges, Inc., in Mission, KS, where she oversees multiple nursing VN/PN to prelicensure BSN programs nationwide. She also serves as co-chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at Concorde Career Colleges. Additionally, she serves as a mentor to nursing students completing their capstone nursing course at historically black colleges and universities through partnerships with the National League for Nursing and Johnson & Johnson's "Step into Leadership" program.

Also, as founder and owner of Mother’s Care Doula Services, Inc., Dr. Robinson has successfully served over 4,000 families in the South Florida birthing community for twenty-four years. Dr. Robinson is also licensed to practice law and is an active member of the Florida Bar. Her extensive knowledge and experience in both the legal and healthcare fields uniquely positions her to understand and address the challenges faced by nursing professionals today.

"It is truly an honor for the NSNA Board of Directors to appoint Dr. Marlo Robinson, an advocate for NSNA since the development of the International Society of Professional Identity in Nursing,” said NSNA President Lauren Lodico. “Her expertise—in legal, nursing, and her work in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity—provide a unique outlook and perspective that the NSNA Board, members, and staff will profit from. On behalf of the NSNA Board of Directors, it is our honor and pleasure to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Marlo Robinson and congratulate her on her appointment as NLN Consultant."

Dr. Kenya Williams, NSNA Executive Director, expressed her profound excitement and enthusiasm regarding Dr. Robinson's appointment. "We are incredibly thrilled to have Dr. Marlo Robinson join our team as the National League for Nursing Appointed Consultant to the NSNA Board of Directors," said Dr. Williams. "Her exceptional background and diverse skill set make her the perfect candidate to guide and mentor our nursing leaders of tomorrow. We are confident that her expertise will greatly benefit our organization and the nursing community as a whole."

Dr. Robinson has expressed equal parts excitement and commitment regarding her appointment. “Having the privilege to serve in this capacity is a dream come true. As the NLN Appointed Consultant to the NSNA Board of Directors, I am gifted with the opportunity to fervently serve future nurse leaders, work with colleagues who put service in leadership first and continue to build upon the legacy of strong advocacy for our profession. It’s my goal to serve with the same spirit of excellence as Dr. Taylor.”

Dr. Robinson earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami and a Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University. She also earned a Masters in Nursing from Kaplan University before earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Purdue University Global.
