Chamber Of Commerce Dates To Remember

Borrego Springs Chamber Certified Farmers Market

Resumes on Friday, November 6

The 60th Annual Borrego Days Festival is in the books.

A tremendous "Thank you" to all of the volunteers

who made it happen. Names will come soon.

Here is your chance to share the many ideas you had and

wanted to share with me at the festival, as you could see,

there was too much going on for me to think about 2027.

However, before you share and idea, remember that

90% of the people that help to put the festival on are volunteers

so be ready for us to ask for your help.

Also feel free to let me know what you liked or disliked.

My direct email is: borregochamberdirector@gmail.com

Thank you, Franҫoise

Many of the streets in Borrego Springs are named after the brands

(used on branding irons) of past ranches in the area.

Can you name this brand?

Borrego Community Cleanup

Borrego's community clean-up is held the first Saturday of every month, commencing at The Circle and fanning out to nearby areas either on foot or by car to pick up litter. The Chamber provides the bags and pickers;

all you need to do is bring yourself.

Hopefully in November the regular schedule can resume,

Borrego Springs Community Sponsor Group – Seeking New Members

At our last Community Sponsor Group meeting, held on October 7, we discussed membership and the need to fill several vacancies on our Board.

As a reminder, all members of the Borrego Springs Community Sponsor Group are appointed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. Our role is to represent the interests and concerns of the Borrego Springs community to the San Diego County government.

Two members have recently notified us that they need to resign from the Board for personal reasons. As a result, we will have three vacant seats and are reaching out to the community for individuals interested in serving.

At our October meeting, we discussed whether applicants must be registered voters in Borrego Springs. We subsequently contacted the County for clarification and learned that applicants must be registered voters, but they do not need to be registered to vote in Borrego Springs. However, all members must own property or reside within our community.

Did You Know?

Husband hunting was once a Halloween tradition.

Valentine's Day who? Back in the 18th century, Halloween was about tricks in more ways than one! At this time, people took to many peculiar methods to rewrite their real-life Halloween horror story: being single in the fall. These tactful techniques included lighting candles in front of a mirror in a dark room to conjure up the fact of a future lover and even tossing apple peels over their shoulders to form an initial upon landing.
