Pride Month:
Supporting the Mental Health of LGBTQ+ Youth
| | |
June is Pride Month—a time to celebrate the identities, contributions, and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community, while also honoring the ongoing struggles for acceptance and equality. It’s a meaningful opportunity to reflect on progress made, acknowledge the challenges that remain, and recommit to fostering inclusion and support.
For LGBTQ+ youth in particular, Pride Month also serves as a reminder of the unique mental health challenges they continue to face due to discrimination, identity-based stress, and lack of access to affirming care. Supporting their well-being is not limited to one month - it requires ongoing awareness, compassion, and action.

Happy Juneteenth!
Juneteenth is the oldest celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth is marked with celebrations emphasizing education and achievement and is a poignant time for reflection and rejoicing.
Please join FSG tomorrow in celebrating this important milestone in our nation's history and in our community's culture. Consider attending local events, supporting Black-owned businesses, educating yourself and others on Juneteenth's history, and engaging in activities that promote freedom and equality. | | Men's Health Month - Focusing on Fathers' Mental Health | | |
On the heels of Father's Day and as summer kicks into gear, ushering in what will hopefully be a time of more relaxed schedules, sunshine, and recreation, now is the perfect time to call attention to the mental health struggles and needs of the most important men in our lives - the fathers in our family.
In an article written by Anthony Nedelman, Ph.D., a fellow in the Department of Family Medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, he delves into the pervasive issue of paternal mental health, detailing the modern dad and the boundaries of “manly” stereotypes as men are tasked with responsibilities that prior generations never would have touched. Click here to read the article.
No matter where you are in your fatherhood journey: trying to conceive, a new dad, parenting teens/young adults, or grandparenting, FSG has highly trained, skilled clinicians ready to support you. CLICK HERE to connect with us.
