Dear Saints Families,
Jesus’ peace to you as we begin a new academic year!
As you read in Dr. Moyer’s welcome letter, portions of our summer construction project will continue into the fall semester. While we had hoped to complete this phase before students returned, permitting and agency-related delays extended the work beyond the original summer schedule.
We prayerfully anticipate completing the remaining fall work early in the semester. At the same time, construction schedules can be affected by inspections, permitting, weather, deliveries, and unforeseen site conditions. For that reason, we do not want to provide a firm completion date until the remaining work is sufficiently advanced. We will continue to communicate meaningful updates as the project progresses.
The work taking place this fall is foundational to the future relocation of several classroom buildings and the creation of a more unified learning area. Our goal is to have that new learning space ready for students in the fall of 2027. Once completed, the project will bring classrooms closer together, improve transitions across campus, strengthen access to academic and arts programs, and prepare Crean Lutheran for future growth.
The safety of our students, employees, families, and guests remains our foremost operational priority. Crean Lutheran is working closely with C.W. Driver, Cordoba Corporation, LPA, and our internal Facilities and Campus Supervision teams to coordinate construction around the school's daily operations. Among the safety and operational measures being implemented and reinforced are:
- Restricting construction-related traffic during student arrival and dismissal;
- Coordinating deliveries, oversized vehicles, and high-impact work around the school schedule;
- Requiring appropriate flagging and traffic control whenever construction vehicles may interact with pedestrian routes;
- Maintaining clear student walkways, emergency routes, fencing, gates, and signage;
- Inspecting temporary surfaces, trench plates, barriers, and other site conditions regularly; and
- Coordinating noisy work and construction activity around testing, chapel services, major events, and other important parts of campus life.
The fire lane and surrounding pathways are important routes for students throughout the school day and must also remain available for emergency access. Our teams will monitor these areas carefully and address concerns promptly as they arise. Faculty, staff, and students will also receive guidance regarding approved routes and any temporary changes to campus circulation.
Construction will temporarily reduce the amount of parking normally available on the grass field. We are developing event-specific parking and traffic plans and coordinating access to additional spaces when possible. As Dr. Moyer shared in his welcome letter, these limitations are also the reason this year’s in-person Back-to-School Night will be reserved for freshmen and transfer families, with course videos available to all families.
We recognize that construction can create temporary inconvenience, additional noise, and changes to familiar routines. We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and partnership as we work to complete this important phase safely and responsibly. Please continue to pray for the workers, project leaders, school personnel, and everyone involved in stewarding this opportunity well.
We are grateful for the Lord’s continued provision and trust that this work will serve generations of Saints students and families.
In Christ,
