Community Resource Sharing Newsletter

Nebraska Warmline

There is a statewide effort about the upcoming Nebraska Warmline, which is a partnership of United Way of the Midlands, 211, Boys Town, Nebraska Children and DHHS. The purpose of the Warmline is to connect families to resources before they need to be reported to the Hotline and enter the Welfare System. We need your help. We are now ready to begin gathering early community input and are asking for your support by sharing the survey through your collaborative networks and partners.

The survey collects initial feedback from community members about the Warmline such as how it should be structured, what communities need most, and what barriers or opportunities exist. This information will directly inform the pilot phase of the Warmline’s implementation, with additional opportunities for feedback to come throughout the process.

This survey is open from April 1st - May 1st and any adult community member can participate. Please feel free to distribute the survey broadly with your network, partners, and community members so we can gather a wide range of perspectives from across Nebraska.

We have a thriving PIWI class going this Spring. Six families attending and bonding and enjoying their littles. We were able to make it outside last week with the beautiful weather and let them explore! Our session goes through the month of April.

Our Introduction Cohort is attending CHIME and will be signing contracts for their Year One as our Cohort 3. We have 15 providers ready to learn the Pyramid Trainings and will be coached by our awesome team we have in place.

Please refer to the flier on The Week of the Young Child. We have a full week of fun. Our Cohort 1 and 2 providers will be running crafts, music activities, stories and having some fun with food. We are so blessed with such talented ladies who love our youth in our community. Come join in the fun! We will also be revealing a new community book that your child can be in, at these events. Great opportunity to let your child shine!

Strong Starts Schuyler is partnering with us for a free movie Sunday afternoon on the 12th of April. Come enjoy Happy Feet with your family and receive $1.00 off your purchases at the snack bar. A big thank you to Strong Starts Schuyler! Photo Booth for making memories and parent handouts on the community book and how to get involved.

Community Prevention

Spring is in the air and some of us look forward to spring so we can plant flowers, garden, or do fun activities outdoors. For many families in our community the season also brings challenges.

Through Community Prevention, a program supported by the United Way, we can help to support individuals and families before challenges grow into bigger problems. If we can’t directly help, we can make referrals to other trusted agencies and organizations who might be able to.

Our staff are here to walk with families so they can continue to grow stronger. We help families and individuals grow stronger by helping them to build a stable foundation.

Just like Spring, there will be brighter days ahead and we are here to help.

Food Access Resources

One word that we like to use to describe ourselves is "connectors." We connect people to resources, to help, to others that can help. With the rising food insecurity needs, a food matrix was created that has resources, as well as information regarding 2-1-1 and Find Help to connect participants to the resources they need. Please find these items below.
