Days After SBTC Files Motion for Contempt, UCR Plan Board Reveals it Intends to Hold Secret Session Closed to Public to Discuss Truckers' Social Security Data Breach, Alludes to Change in UCR Leadership

On Monday, May 20, 2019, in the aftermath of a May 14, 2019 motion by SBTC that a Federal Judge find the UCR Plan Board in contempt for allegedly violating the Court's February 4th, 2019 injunction requiring Sunshine Act compliance, the UCR Plan Board published a notice in the Federal Register that reveals the Board intends to conduct a secret meeting to privately discuss the data breach reported by the SBTC in March, among other matters, and thereafter take Board action behind closed doors.

SBTC believes hundreds of thousands of truckers' social security numbers were exposed in their entirety on the UCR.gov website by the Board's contractor Seiko Soft during the month of March after the USDOT unlawfully released these data to the UCR Board without truckers' consent in violation of the Privacy Act and USDOT policy. SBTC has therefore requested an investigation by the USDOT Office of the Inspector General and the privacy officers for the USDOT and the US Department of Justice.

This Notice also alludes to a change in UCR Plan leadership and order of succession.

The Congressionally-Chartered Non-Profit UCR Plan's Federal Register Notice , which is currently being reviewed by SBTC's attorneys, states:

"Portions Closed to the Public
