Level 1: Yoga for Children & Teens — Autism, Neurodiversity & Diverse Needs

October 28 – November 8, 2026 | Online Training

Are you passionate about supporting children and teens with diverse needs through the transformative practices of yoga?

There are less than two weeks left until we begin our next Level 1 training, and we'd love for you to join us!

This comprehensive, experiential training is designed to give you the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to make yoga accessible, inclusive, engaging, and meaningful for children and teens with diverse abilities and needs.

Whether you're a yoga teacher, therapist, educator, parent, or professional working with young people, this training offers a wealth of practices and approaches you can begin integrating into your work right away.

What You'll Learn & Explore

Throughout this training, we'll explore:

  • Understanding Autism, Neurodiversity & Diverse Needs: Develop a deeper understanding of autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, sensory processing differences, developmental disabilities, and diverse learning and communication needs.

  • Sensory Processing & Integration: Explore the sensory systems and how yoga and movement can support sensory awareness, processing, and integration.

  • Nervous System Regulation: Learn how yoga, breath, movement, and sensory-based practices can support regulation, emotional awareness, and a greater sense of safety.

  • Yoga Poses & Adaptations: Discover creative, accessible ways to adapt yoga poses for different physical, sensory, cognitive, and developmental needs.

  • Breathing Practices: Explore engaging, developmentally appropriate breathing techniques to support body awareness, attention, and regulation.

  • Movement, Rhythm & Play: Experience practices that support coordination, balance, motor planning, bilateral integration, crossing the midline, and meaningful engagement.

  • Mind-Body Awareness: Learn ways to foster interoception, body awareness, self-confidence, self-esteem, and an embodied sense of belonging.

  • Communication & Connection: Explore approaches that honor individual communication styles, support choice and autonomy, and create opportunities for connection.

  • Trauma-Informed & Inclusive Teaching: Develop an understanding of how to create supportive, predictable, and empowering yoga experiences.

  • Creative Yoga Activities: Build your toolbox of playful, engaging practices that can be adapted for individuals and groups.

Our approach recognizes that every child is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching yoga.

The intention is not to make children fit into a particular yoga practice, but to adapt the practices to meet each child's individual needs, strengths, interests, and abilities.

Who Is This Training For?

This training is ideal for:

  • Yoga teachers and children's yoga instructors
  • Yoga therapists and yoga therapy students
  • Occupational therapists and physical therapists
  • Speech-language pathologists
  • Educators, special education teachers, and classroom support professionals
  • Mental health professionals, counselors, and somatic practitioners
  • Parents, caregivers, and family members
  • Anyone passionate about creating more inclusive opportunities for children and teens to experience yoga

No prior experience working with children with diverse needs or with yoga is necessary. Whether you're new to this work or looking to expand your existing knowledge and skills, you'll come away with a greater understanding and a toolbox of adaptable practices.

What Is Included?

  • Comprehensive online training curriculum
  • Self-paced learning combined with live Zoom sessions
  • Experiential yoga, breath, movement, and sensory-based practices
  • Practical tools and strategies for working with children and teens
  • Opportunities to connect, ask questions, and learn alongside other participants
  • Guidance for adapting practices to meet diverse needs

Yoga offers so much more than physical movement. It creates opportunities for children and teens to connect with their bodies, discover their strengths, build confidence, experience meaningful connection, and develop a greater sense of belonging.

For young people who experience the world differently, having access to practices that honor who they are and how they move through the world can be incredibly empowering.

I hope you'll join us for this meaningful learning experience!
