Insider Edition 96 | August 7, 2025 | | | | |
Hello Windsor!
Thank you to everyone who attended the National Night Out event on Tuesday at the Town Green.
The Town is proud of all our first responders and the excellent service they provide to our community.
Special thanks to all the deputies and firefighters who came out in force to show off their equipment to all who attended, and the vendors who showcased their services, bringing our community together for this special event.
As the summer heat rises, so does the temperature of the pavement. To protect and avoid animal injuries, avoid walking them on hot surfaces during peak sun hours to prioritize their comfort and safety.

GREENHOUSE GAS POLICIES &
COMPLIANCE CHECKLIST
| | |
The Town of Windsor has a proud history of commitment to environmental stewardship.
Given the evolving nature of climate action and knowledge, State policies, and local priorities, the Town is embarking on a State-funded project to create more current, targeted, and effective policies and strategies for the reduction of GHG emissions.
These policies will provide a compliance checklist for development projects to streamline the environmental review process, making an already required process easier, by providing a step-by-step method for projects to demonstrate consistency with State and Town GHG emission goals.
We want to hear from you! Please complete the survey and attend a community meeting. Information about the community meetings is available on the project webpage: https://www.townofwindsor.ca.gov/1597/GHG-Policies-Compliance-Checklist

The Bluebird Center Compost Hub reopens
Thursday, August 7
| | | | |
The compost hub is located at 25 Bluebird Drive.
The compost provided is USDA certified organic and purchased for the Town by Zero Waste Sonoma.
A friendly reminder that each community member is allowed to take two 5-gallon buckets worth of compost each day for equity purposes.
Please respect this lovely, free resource by cleaning up after yourself and closing the Hub door behind you.

The Native Landscape Maintenance workshop
held at the Senior Center on August 2nd was a big success!
| | | | |
The workshop was led by two guest speakers from the Habitat Corridor Project and had 18 attendees.
The speakers explained how to care for native landscapes in a way that creates habitat and invites native pollinators.
The workshop had both an indoor and outdoor component for some hands-on learning!
| | |
If you are interested in learning about native plants and landscaping, then stay tuned for our future workshops! The workshops are FREE to attend, and announcements will be made on the Town of Windsor social media pages as well as future newsletter articles.
We hope to see you at the next workshop!
