Dear Country Day Community,
We are writing to share a significant update on the search for our next Head of School. As we move into the final phase of this process, we are excited to announce that our finalist candidates will be visiting campus on February 3-4th, February 5-6th, and February 9-10th.
We are pleased with the progress we’ve made throughout this search, a process deeply shaped by the thoughtful input of our community, with over 350 survey responses and strong engagement during the November campus visits from Carney, Sandoe & Associates. The invaluable feedback gained allowed us to craft a clear and compelling position description that reflects Country Day’s values and aspirations. After posting the position and an extensive national search, our consultants received countless inquiries and resumes from qualified individuals, conducted interviews, and presented a strong, cultivated group of candidates to the search committee in early January. From there, the committee interviewed seven impressive semifinalists and, after careful deliberation, selected a group of finalists to invite to campus. We recognize that this exceptional pool of candidates reflects Country Day’s outstanding reputation and the strength of our school.
We would like to invite our community to save the dates for the open sessions reserved for current families, alumni, and Country Day community members, which will all be located in the Coleman Family Dining Room:
- Candidate #1:
- Tuesday, February 3: 5:00-5:45 p.m.
- Wednesday, February 4: 9:15-10:00 a.m.
- Candidate #2:
- Thursday, February 5: 5:00-5:45 p.m.
- Friday, February 6: 8:15-9:00 a.m.
Once we solidify times for our third candidate, we will share them as soon as possible.
Each finalist’s name and a short biography will be shared just prior to their individual visit. During their visit, candidates will meet with all constituencies, including sessions for current families, alumni, and other stakeholders. After each visit, everyone who interacts with a candidate will have the chance to share their feedback through a confidential survey. We will provide a link to this survey when we announce each visit.
This process remains strictly confidential until finalists are announced. We appreciate your understanding. As we enter this final phase, please remember that while we are learning about the candidates, they are also learning about us. Let’s extend a warm welcome and ensure every candidate leaves with a positive impression of our exceptional school community.
Thank you for your continued engagement in this important process.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Katz ‘98 and Robyn Schwarz
Co-Chairs, Head of School Search Committee
