GREET R&D Model Training Workshop

November 4-5, 2025

UC Center Sacramento, 1115 11th Street, Sacramento, CA

The UC Davis Institute of Transportation Studies will host a 2-day training workshop for the GREET R&D model. GREET R&D is a life cycle analysis model used to evaluate the environmental and energy impacts of transportation; it is used by many regulation and incentive programs, including the U.S. Renewable Fuel Standard, Section 45(Z) tax credits, and Low Carbon Fuel Standards in several states. First deployed in 1995 and continuously updated by the Argonne National Laboratory, GREET offers a comprehensive approach to understanding the flows of energy, materials, and emissions in the transportation system.

This 2-day workshop will present a curriculum created by the GREET development team at Argonne National Lab, structured to provide an overview of the capabilities and design of the GREET model, and guide participants through several demonstration exercises. Attendees will learn how to use GREET to evaluate the energy and emissions impacts of vehicle manufacturing, fuel production, and renewable energy systems. Participants will develop an understanding of GREET’s basic design and interface, the data resources embedded in the model, and how to use GREET to answer a wide range of different questions. Workshop participants will become part of a rapidly-growing user community and learn about the library of supporting material around GREET.

To cover the cost of the workshop, registration is $150 per person. Scholarship opportunities will be available if requested. If you have any questions pertaining to registration or scholarship opportunities please reach out to Cristina Cameron, ITS Davis Conference and Events Manager, at cfetcheverry@ucdavis.edu.

GREET training sessions will be held at multiple locations around the U.S. Follow this link for more information, or to find a training session near you. https://greet.anl.gov/greet_train_the_trainer
