Your monthly update from CHUSY Social Action Tikun Olam VP, Brandon Wagner:
Hi CHUSY!!!

As our year is coming to a close, this is unfortunately my last SA/TO Newsletter and Spotlight. This year has been one of the best experiences of my life being your regional SA/TO and I would never trade it for anything, even though it was during the pandemic. In our conventions this year, we have always had a social action program and had some form of a focus on raising money for Tikun Olam, which was one of my goals during this very weird year.

Another one of my goals was achieved through this newsletter and the SA/TO Spotlight. So for our last SA/TO Spotlight, I am just going to recap the organizations I have highlighted all year to help you remember 5 great organizations you can help out if/whenever you donate money to charities. First we highlighted Keshet, a Jewish special needs organization based in Chicago. Then there was the Equal Justice Initiative, which supports promoting equal rights for all people in the US. In February, we had MAZON which helps Jews and others with food insecurity in America and around the world. Finally last month, I highlighted Yad L’Kashish (an organization to help foreign seniors in Israel) and the Michael Levin Lone Soldier Fund (a fund to help lone soldiers that come to Israel to fight in the IDF). All 5 of these are wonderful organizations that I encourage all of you to help whenever you can.

Once again, thanks for reading these newsletters all year and I hope that my successor will continue these to keep spotlighting great organizations to help and CHUSY events as well. Sign up for Kinnus from 4/29-5/2! I hope to see y’all there!

Thanks and have a good year,

Brandon Wagner
