Elon Musk: The World's First Trillionaire

Elon Musk became the world's first trillionaire after shares in SpaceX surged following the company's historic stock market debut. He remains the world's wealthiest individual, ranking ahead of the founders of Google, Amazon, and many other technology giants.

Although Musk has not always topped the rich list, the growth of Tesla, SpaceX, and his AI ventures has significantly increased his wealth. Much of his fortune is tied to his stock holdings, meaning its value can rise or fall with market performance. According to reports, less than 0.1% of his wealth is held in cash, with the vast majority invested in company shares. Read the full article here.

Bank of Japan Raises Interest Rates to Highest Level Since 1995

The Bank of Japan has increased interest rates from 0.75% to 1%, marking their highest level since 1995. The decision reflects the central bank's efforts to support the yen and continue its transition away from years of ultra-loose monetary policy.

While concerns over global uncertainties, including tensions in the Middle East, have influenced financial markets, the move is largely driven by rising inflation and the Bank of Japan's goal of returning to a more normal monetary policy framework. Although Japan's Prime Minister had previously expressed caution regarding further interest rate increases, he has not publicly criticized the Bank of Japan's latest decision. Read more here.

Could Helium-3 Be the Moon's Most Valuable Resource?

Helium-3 is a rare isotope of helium with applications in national security, quantum computing, medical lung imaging, nuclear fusion research, and advanced scientific technologies. A single litre of Helium-3 can cost around £1,500, and demand continues to grow. However, on Earth, it exists only in very small concentrations, making it difficult to obtain.

Interestingly, samples of lunar dust (regolith) collected during the Apollo missions suggest that Helium-3 may be present on the Moon in much greater quantities. If successfully extracted, it could help expand global supplies and support future advances in healthcare, science, and energy research.

One of the strongest advocates for lunar Helium-3 recovery is Harrison “Jack” Schmitt, co-founder of Interlune and the only geologist to walk on the Moon during the Apollo 17 mission. For decades, he has championed the idea of harvesting Helium-3 from the Moon's surface. Check out the full story here.
