Apply NOW to be on the Advisory Board of International WILPF, on behalf of WILPF US
Deadline for application is Sept. 14, 5 pm local time
The Advisory Board is a body created in July of this year, by a newly adopted amendment to the WILPF International Constitution and By-Laws. The Advisory Board Member from WILPF US will be involved in WILPF International discussions in this new body.
Meeting at least twice a year (starting in October this year), the Advisory Board will provide advice and recommendations to the International Board (IB) concerning implementation of the International Programme, ways to foster political discussion in WILPF, and approaches to strengthening and promoting contact and exchange of information between the IB and the national sections and groups.
If you are interested in the work of International and being a vital link between the IB and WILPF US, consider applying to be appointed as the WILPF US Advisory Board member!
The Advisory Board member from WILPF US is anticipated to serve until the next (2025) International Congress. She (or he) participates in WILPF US Board discussions. The job description for the WILPF US member of the Advisory Board is being developed. It probably will include responsibilities like these:
- Read the International Programme
- Review the ongoing minutes of the IB meetings
- Attend the WILPF US and the Advisory Board meetings
- Represent WILPF US concerns at the Advisory Board meetings
- Inform the Steering Committee of relevant IB discussions and issues
- Prepare and write reports on the Advisory Board meetings
The Advisory Board member can also be an important communications link with WILPF US members concerning International matters, including by writing eNews articles, presenting at the WILPF US Board and branch meetings, and in other ways.
Because this is a new position, the U.S. Board has not yet determined the qualifications for this position. At least, you must be a current WILPF US member and have been a member for the 12 months prior to October 1, 2022. Also, you must commit to attending Board meetings and be able to write and respond to emails.
If you’re interested, please contact me at President@wilpfus.org to request the application and/or ask further questions!
Your application must be emailed to me by Wednesday, September 14, 2022, 5 pm your local time.
