An Information Bulletin for our Myeloma Community:
Preventative Measures Myeloma Canada
is Taking Against COVID-19
for the well-being of our community
Martine Elias - Executive Director
Dear community,
We believe it is our social responsibility to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and keep our community safe. And so, in keeping with the recommendations of Health Canada Public Health Safety Organization and the World Health Organization (WHO), Myeloma Canada is taking various measures for everyone’s well-being.
All of us at the organization will be working remotely for the next little while. Moving to a ‘virtual’ workplace environment is the right thing to do to help curb the potential transmission of the virus and to protect people who are at higher risk of complication from this virus should they contract it.
For the time being, all Myeloma Canada in-person events (InfoSessions, Meet & Greets and our National Conference) will be postponed or adapted to another format. Please check
myeloma.ca for up-to-date news and information. We’ll also be in contact once new dates for events are scheduled.
Our decisions are based on the recommendations from the government and WHO to practice social distancing wherever possible. By limiting contact with each other, we limit the spread of the virus. And that, of course, is everyone’s goal. It is the most important step toward helping to flatten the curve and curtail the spread of COVID-19.
The Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the public health risk associated with COVID-19 as low for the general population in Canada. So, while these measures may seem drastic, please remember, these efforts are temporary and should be considered as a positive and proactive initiative taken by our organization and our country to stay ahead of the virus.
We're here for you.
We are available to you as usual. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at contact@myeloma.ca or call, toll-free: 1-888-798-5771.
Of course, always remember to call your healthcare provider if you have any concerns about your health.
