Welcome to Lakeville!

Dalsin Industries offers metal fabrication services and their Lakeville plant is almost FULLY automated.

Their new 42,000 sq. ft facility is a shining example of how automation and innovation can produce high quality, custom parts, with staggering efficiency. The facility features two fully automated and integrated Salvagnini S4+P4 sheet metal processing systems connected to a central MV material warehouse with approximately 350 pallet locations. A robotic picker crane inside the oversized material warehouse intelligently transports raw material to one of two active material columns. Each column feeds one Salvagnini S4+P4 line. A single employee, located at the bending station, operates the entire system by making a request to the software indicating the part number and quantity to fabricate. The interconnected FMS handles the rest.

Technology and automation are integral to Dalsin’s success and it takes significant reinvestment in the business to keep up with the latest developments on this front. “Dalsin is on the leading edge of technology and automation. We are very excited to share this capability with strategic customers.” states Tom Schmeling, CEO.

This month, Councilmember John Bermel and State Representative Jon Koznick will talk to the group about the Dementia Friendly Lakeville initiative they kicked off in January.

They will give an overview of the program from purpose to how the business community can get their employees essential information that will help continue to make Lakeville a welcoming community for residents and families navigating this disease. They will also share an opportunity to participate in a 60-minute Dementia Friendly Minnesota virtual info session on Friday morning, April 26th. If you would like this week's link, or would like to be added to the monthly A&I reminder email, email me.

Our Chamber Ambassadors give back so much of their time and talent to the Chamber and our business community. They attend events, write thank you notes, deliver membership and anniversary plaques, and more. Throughout the year we will highlight them. Make sure and say HI when you see them around! Our next Ambassador is…

Your Name:

Title:

VP of Commercial Banking

Company:

New Market Bank

Your Specialty:

Anything banking related! We provide loans, deposit accounts, and investments. If you do not know your banker by first name or they do not live in the community you do business in, you are missing out on white glove service that is specifically tailored to your financial needs. New Market Bank is well rooted in the community and is a bank that understands your financial needs. I have my cell phone in my signature block so you can contact me at any time!

Reason you like doing business in Lakeville:

Lakeville is such a fast-growing community and being apart of the growth is rewarding because my wife and I reap the benefits with more fun things to do around town!

Years as a Chamber Member:

The bank has been a chamber member for 20+ years. Don’t know the exact number. I have been a part of the New Market Bank for 18 months.

Years as an Ambassador: 1

Favorite thing about being a Lakeville Chamber member:

Everyone is so nice and authentically cares about the Lakeville Community. You run into Chamber members at Rotary events and other volunteer events around the city. These people truly want to see the community thrive. As a banker I am proud to support these hard-working entrepreneurs.

Favorite go-to meal at one of our restaurants:

There are so many great options, and I can’t just pick one. It depends on the time of the year. Nothing beats the mussels at Lakeville Brew in the summer with a cold Amber Ale. During hockey season, at B52’s cheering the Wild on and eating really anything there or on Tuesday, all you can eat crab at the Better Half. I also like to grab some wings at the Red Fox or Buck ’54 during hockey season. My wife and I have also done the Northern Tap for their Bloody Mary of the month. My favorite one so far is the State Fair themed one. I could keep going but those are where you are most likely to find me.

Favorite thing to do for fun around town:

This last year it has been running around to the local ice rinks as an assistant coach for the Lakeville South Peewee AA team. It has been so fun getting to know these kids and seeing them grow into better people and hockey players. It is a great day to be a Cougar!
