CAASPP UPDATE

In response to the CAASPP scores from 2023, these are some of the actions SRV is or will be taking this year:

  • Administered Fastbridge in the Fall for both English and Math ~ to give our teachers more information about students who need content/skill remediation.
  • Math teachers administered MDTP Diagnostic to identify specific areas of need so teachers can form small group before and after school intervention groups.
  • English teachers are administering an English Language Arts interim assessment ~ familiarize students with the format types of questions they may encounter on the CAASPP.
  • Creating targeted intervention groups for students during Access period based on identified learning needs.
  • Offering peer tutoring during Access for math classes.
  • Convened a staff CAASPP action group to get feedback on last year's administration of the exam and gather ideas for improving student performance.
  • Meet with multiple student panels to get insight on their thoughts about CAASPP and how to improve administration of the exam.

I have many staff volunteering their time at these events, but we are still short. Parents, please pay it forward and help at one of these events, so parents of those students don’t have to chaperone their child’s event. They really are fun and beautiful events!
