Paws Up Service Day

We are excited to announce a new event in honor of children, culture and community during Hispanic Heritage Month. ¡Vivan Los Niños! is a family-friendly day of Latin-infused festivities co-hosted by Texas A&M-San Antonio and Nuestra Gente Tribute™️ in partnership with the Office of the President, The Institute for School and Community Partnerships, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and the Division of Student Engagement and Success. Fun and free for San Antonio and Bexar County families, this inaugural children’s celebration includes activities related to cultural arts, literacy activities, games, entertainment, art tours and performances, as well as free community resources.

On-Site Flu Shot Clinic


The Jag-Fit Wellness program is working with Walgreens to bring you an on-campus flu shot clinic on Wednesday, September 28, 2p.m.-4 p.m., Ceremony Room - Patriots Casa. Bring your insurance card to receive your shot free of charge (without insurance the out of pocket cost is $39.05). Register for your preferred time slot through SignUp Genius.

Common Experience Speaker Series: 2022 Texas Poet Laureate Lupe Mendez


The 2022 Texas Poet Laureate Lupe Mendez will be joining the Office of First-Year Experience to share his work as a poet, activist and educator on Tuesday, October 4, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m., in the Auditorium. The event is open to the community. Mendez's work remarks on issues from the political to the emotional in a way that intends to connect with both the novice reader to the pro-poetic writer. Alumni Awards Ceremony


The Alumni Awards Ceremony is an annual event that occurs on the day of Fall Fest, a signature event on campus that provides student organizations with opportunities to fundraise for their groups. Three awards are given each year. This year, the awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 15, 12 p.m..


This year’s Recent Graduate awardee is La-Tieka Sims ’20. The Spirit of the Jaguar award goes to Jacinta Flores ’15, ’19, and the Distinguished Alumnus is Alexander Greig ’16. Seats can be purchased by clicking here

Mobile Mammograph Screening

A&M-San Antonio Joins VIA U-Pass Program



More local college students and faculty can now ride fare-free with the expansion of VIA Metropolitan Transit’s U-Pass program. Texas A&M University-San Antonio is the latest to join VIA’s U-Pass program, offering convenient, affordable public transportation options from campus, including the new VIA Link South zone that opened this month. Employee Engagement Focus Groups


Attention employees! In Spring 2022, A&M-San Antonio initiated an Employee Engagement Task Force (EET) Committee and conducted the first employee engagement survey to gather employees' perceptions of our University as a workplace. To learn more about our organizational culture and engagement, the Task Force has scheduled October focus groups. The focus group meetings will be virtual, beginning October 4 through October 7. These meetings are your opportunity to further discuss our organizational strengths and areas of improvement. 


Supervisors have been informed of this invitation to participate in the upcoming Employee Engagement Focus Groups. Please plan accordingly for any coverage so you may have the opportunity to participate. You will receive a personalized calendar invite with the Zoom Link information. More details will be provided soon.

Reproductive Rights Research Guide 


The Library published a Reproductive Rights Research Guide on their website. It includes books, articles and films that the Library owns. The guide also offers information about abortion, including a video about the significance of the recent court case; birth control, including information about free condoms on campus; and select community resources. IACUC Update

System Chancellor John Sharp Speaks at South Texas Summit 


Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp provided the keynote address for the inaugural South Texas Summit held last Thursday at the Brooks Embassy Suites in San Antonio and attended by business and community leaders from across South Texas. Introduced by A&M-San Antonio President Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson, Chancellor Sharp spoke of the critical need to leverage K-12 and higher ed. innovations and best-practices to develop Texas’ greatest natural resource: OUR PEOPLE.

A&M-San Antonio Remembers Lowry Mays


Lowry Mays, a longtime supporter and friend of Texas A&M University-San Antonio, passed away on September 12 at the age of 87. A 1957 graduate of Texas A&M University, Mays served two terms on The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents (1985-1991 and 2001-2007), including as chairman from 2003-2005. Read more in A&M-SA Today.
