Greetings!
Today’s Keystone marks in one way the beginning of our next school year together. I pray you’ve found rest this summer – the opportunity to enjoy, to be with those who fill your hearts and pursue those activities that free your minds.
Reading today’s Gospel passage, I was filled with hope as I reflected on the spirit of abundance to which Christ calls us. It can be easy to see only that which is before us – five loaves and two fish. Jesus challenges us, like the apostles, to think bigger and to share more fully with each other. Like those gathered on the hill, we experience the miracle of God’s abundance when we share freely with each other.
These last two years, we have experienced this in the solidarity and communion of our Zoom calls. As we enter in this next school year together, I am eager to continue to build on this strength, learning from each other and growing as a network of Catholic schools.
I share my gratitude with each of you for your leadership in our schools. Your presence allows the teachers, staff, students, and families we serve to experience God more fully through your witness. I find hope in your companionship as we embark together.

Princess Angeline's Rosary Presentation |
After being on loan to the Museum of History and Industry for the last 15 years, the rosary of Princess Angeline, daughter of Chief Seattle, has been returned to our diocesan archives for a short time before the item is gifted to the Duwamish Tribe to be displayed in their Longhouse and Cultural Center. In this video, archives director Seth Dalby and Corinna Laughlin, diocesan historian, deliver a fascinating talk about this object and the Catholic faith of Princess Angeline and Chief Seattle.
