With all the closings in Mississippi, I am delighted to let you know that we are planning to have the Farmers Market open this Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As a retail food establishment, shoppers count on our local farmers market for their weekly grocery needs.
One of the recommendations from the Mississippi Department of Health is:
Stay in good overall health by eating right and staying active.
One way we can encourage staying in good overall health and staying active is by opening the doors to our Market. Grocery stores may be running low, but not the Mississippi Farmers Market. Our local farmers are still farming, still providing wholesome and highly nutritious foods, and are still being the ONLY hands that touch the produce until it is in the hands of a consumer.
Last week at the Farmers Market, we had several farmers who pre-bagged their produce, already had their gloves on to help make the selection for the shopper and then bag it for them. And, the bay doors were up, so a nice breeze was coming through. But to ensure a clean and sanitary market for all, we are taking certain preventive measures and would like to encourage everyone to take precautions as well.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
