Thanksgiving and You By David Sabetay ©2023
Thanksgiving is the start of the holiday season. For some of us, it brings family and friends together to enjoy each other. For others, it may bring depression caused by the loss of a loved one, divorce, illness, loss of a job, or estrangement from family.

Depression may lead to thoughts of suicide, that you are unworthy of receiving or sharing love, and the belief in ourselves of our self-worth.
I want you to know that every soul is worthy of love. That FDW (fear, doubt, and worthiness) we are confronted with every day doesn’t have to consume us. That we can solve our problems if we choose to work on it. That the universe has our backs, if we trust the process.

It is difficult to believe in ourselves when everything seems to be stacked against us and nothing in our lives seems to be working. I have become a master of poor me in different stages of my life when one challenging event after another kept happening. When I was knocked down to the ground by friends, family, and events, the feeling I had no way out, and that I was not worthy led me to the point of the abyss. I was tired and didn’t want to deal with my life any longer. What was the point? Who cared? Did I even care for myself?

Many times we are looking for a savior. Nobody can save you, but you. To receive help, you have to want to make changes and be willing to look at yourself without being judgmental. Every person on this planet has issues.

I have often told people if Jesus Christ himself came down to earth and cured them of cancer, the next day you would start to develop something else like heart problems because you haven’t healed the underlying issues.

Remember, you have free will and you have a choice.
If you see someone in trouble, consider offering help, which may be accepted or rejected.

Remember to be kind, smile, and give a reassuring message. Let people know they can call 988, 24 hours a day to receive help and be less judgmental. Most of all, let divine love and wisdom emanate through you to all those around you.

If we can help you in any way through Life Guide sessions or any of our programs like Letting Go and Moving Forward, please reach out.

Thanks –Happy Holidays,
David
