⭐️ HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS ⭐️

‘Tis the season! We are delighted to kick off our annual Hope for the Holidays giving program. To ensure our families’ basic needs are met and they can create memories together during this holiday season, we are partnering with businesses and individuals in our community to collect donations of winter coats, age-appropriate educational toys, pajamas, books, and gift cards for food and other high need items. With your support, we can help local families raising young children during this festive time.

Because of your generous support in 2024, Family Building Blocks was able to provide gifts and needed items and create cherished holiday memories with over 700 children and their families in our community. YOU made all this possible!

To participate as a business or individual and collect needed items, please contact Claudia by calling 503.566.2132, emailing cvorse@familybuildingblocks.org or visit us online at familybuildingblocks.org/hopefortheholidays.

UPDATE ON DORIS'S NEW PLACE!

We are thrilled to share some exciting updates about Doris's Place, our Family Building Blocks location in the Santiam Canyon! Our doors will be opening in January 2026!

As we open the doors of Doris’s New Place, we will double our classrooms – increasing the number of children served from 16 to 32. We will also be able to expand the ages of children we serve by adding preschoolers in addition to infants and toddlers.

We designed the building to facilitate FBB’s long term growth, with two additional classrooms to be used by FBB down the road but immediately will be used by community partners - increasing service partnerships in eastern Marion County. It will also bring our food pantry, diaper bank, clothing closet, Healthy Families staff and classrooms all under one roof, increasing access to services for our local families.

As we put the finishing touches on our space, we continue to fundraise over the finish line!

THANK YOU DREAM BUILDERS LUNCHEON 2025

Thank you to over 500 community members who said YES to joining Family Building Blocks this October at the Salem Convention Center for our annual Dream Builders Luncheon! Thank you to our incredible community of supporters who joined us for an afternoon of inspiration, connection, and shared purpose.

It was a joy to gather with so many guests, volunteers, staff, and friends, all united by a common goal, "Keeping Children Safe and Families Together" through the work of Family Building Blocks. Your generosity and belief in our mission empower us to provide vital programs and resources that strengthen families and help children thrive.

Because of our guests and donors, more children will grow up safe, nurtured, and loved. Thank you for being a part of this important work and for continuing to build hope and stability for families across our community.

A special thank you to Ofelia and her family for courageously sharing their story. Ofelia's journey is a powerful reminder of the resilience of families and the life-changing impact of a caring community.

PUMPKIN PATCH AT FORDYCE FARMS

One of the most frequent stressors our families experience is a sense of isolation. Family Building Blocks staff offer weekly and monthly playgroups at several of our Family Building Blocks sites. Teachers and Home Visitors encourage families to participate as often as they can as playgroups are a way families with young children can support their child’s development, build relationships and community, and create positive core memories.

Recently, Family Building Blocks families were invited to join in a playgroup for infants and toddlers and enjoyed an extra special treat – the annual “field trip” to family-owned Fordyce Farm Pumpkin Patch! Children and their families visited the working farm, rode on hay bales in the farming tractor, climbed the hay pyramid, and even enjoyed pumpkin and apple picking. There were smiles all around!

Thank you to Fordyce Farms for hosting us!

THANK YOU DO IT BEST FOUNDATION

Family Building Blocks is proud to announce it has been awarded a $7,500 grant from the Do it Best Foundation. The Foundation recently distributed funding for grants to organizations dedicated to creating brighter futures for children and families in communities across the country, and Family Building Blocks is thrilled to have been selected.

This grant will further our mission of “Keeping Children Safe and Families Together," providing essential programs and support services to families in Marion and Polk counties, including the Woodburn area, also home to our local Do It Best.

We are deeply grateful to the Do it Best Foundation for this generous support!
