I remember some (but not all) of the audience participation bits. And trust me, the theater staff was none to happy about most of these:
FROM THE INTERNET:
Essential Prop Traditions:
-
Rice: Thrown into the air during the opening wedding scene.
-
Newspapers: Held over the head when Janet covers her head during the rainstorm.
-
Water Pistols: Fired into the air to simulate the rain during the storm scene (under the cover of your newspaper).
-
Flashlights or Glowsticks: Swayed back and forth during the song "Over at the Frankenstein Place" when the lyrics say "there's a light".
-
Rubber Gloves: Snapped in sync with Dr. Frank-N-Furter during the creation scene.
-
Toast: Thrown during the dinner scene when Frank proposes a toast.
-
Playing Cards: Showered across the room when the line "cards for sorrow, cards for pain" is sung.
I was at one showing and whenever Meatloaf (the singer) would appear, people would throw meatloaf at the screen (and get kicked out).
And of course you had to all stand up and do "The Time Warp" with all of the dance moves.
Anyway, over the years we have developed many traditions at Legendary Bingo- none as bold as the ones I just mentioned but I notice when people bring a group of friends they begin to "train" them on what is going to happen. It cracks me up and I love it. Usually at each show we have what we call a "callback monitor" and that is the first person who corrects us if we call a number and do not say the callback. We call them out and they must do every callback from then on as punishment.
Speaking of punishment, we did get rid of one tradition and people are none ot happy about it...
