New Upcoming Training!

Vicarious Trauma and Self Care Training

October 28th, 2025

2:00 P.M. - 3:30 P.M.

Housing and homeless service providers often bear witness to the trauma experienced by others. Over time, this exposure can lead to Vicarious Trauma—a shift in one’s inner experience that results from repeated contact with others’ suffering.

This training provides practical tools and strategies to help front-line staff and supervisors across the Homeless Response System recognize the signs of vicarious trauma, manage its effects, and foster resilience at both the individual and organizational levels. Participants will explore realistic self-care practices, coping strategies, and ways to support emotional well-being for themselves and their teams.

This session equips providers with the tools to sustain compassion, prevent burnout, and continue serving others effectively. By fostering a healthier workplace culture, we can carry on this vital work—while also prioritizing care for ourselves and supporting one another.
