Hello all my lovely art lovers and friends,
Monday, Julie and I are embarking on the trip of a lifetime to Tanzania, considered the cradle of humankind. We will tour the Serengeti, Mount Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park and end in Zanzibar.
I am reminded of my first trip to Italy at about 30 years old riding a scooter around Rome and arriving at Piazza del Popolo. At that moment I was blown away to see the place I had seen in a painting before I knew the place existed. As it turns out, I experienced the world in paintings before I saw the world in person.
We are now off to experience a part of the world that Shaka Zulu
visits every year to gain inspiration and help from the Maasai Tribe in Tanzania. Tajah Olson's home in Malawi shares a border and her queens and goddesses share the East African culture.
We have all learned about the world through ART...Knowingly and unknowingly...visual art, music, literature, poetry, performance, dance, theatre, film & more... All of it.
Art influences all aspects of our lives and we do not have to name it, it's just there, all around us, all the time...Soak in the art.
Enjoy the waning Summer... Look around you and see, hear, feel, smell, touch and taste the art.
With unending gratitude and love,
-Angela
