Virtual Programming: Week 8
Greetings!

As the nights grow chilly and the summer season winds to a close, we come to the last edition of Virtual Programming. Thank you for journeying with us as we explored the incredible people, processes, and perspectives that make Holden Village thrive.

For this final week, we look inward and outward as we explore the implications of the summer theme "Samaritan Traveler." You can practice faith in action through a musical chant to express gratitude, a podcast on enriching and expanding our liturgies, and a platform for solidarity with our immigrant neighbors.

This summer we engaged in a three-fold invitation: encounter, embrace, and embark. Looking towards the next season in Holden's story, we welcome the bold new encounters and celebrate the heartfelt embraces we've shared this summer. And we journey with good courage as we embark on the winding road ahead.

Faithfully,
The Worship Team

Embark: Putting Faith into Action
Under the guidance of Teaching Faculty Michael Ramos, Villagers helped craft a platform for harm reduction and meaningful reform in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors. This statement advocates for the much-needed changes in U.S. immigration policy and practice. It is one way for us to boldly live out our faith in action.

"It was a process of intensively entering into a spirit of accompaniment with shared experiences, learnings and tools for 'walking with'... that holds the promise of just practices that tear down barriers of injustice from wherever we are. Encuentro (encounter), mística (spirituality), and entrega (giving oneself over) are among the practices Central American immigrants teach us. Our solidarity is rooted in relationships beyond our comfort zones."

— Michael Ramos, Executive Director of the Church Council of Greater Seattle
