Low Income Oversight Board Seeking New Public Member

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is seeking applications from interested

individuals to fill one (1) open position on the Low Income Oversight Board (LIOB) representing low-income communities. The LIOB is an advisory board to the CPUC on electric, gas, and water policies that benefit low-income utility customers, and this is an important time to join as the CPUC prepares to consider the next cycle of low-income programs.

This is an opportunity to help inform policies and programs that support low-income households across California. We are seeking a new member who has expertise in, or experience advocating for, the specific needs of low-income communities. We would also welcome applicants with significant experience working with tribal communities, including knowledge of utility affordability, energy access, infrastructure, or low-income program participation challenges affecting tribal communities.

Applicants with experience working with rural and underserved communities, particularly in Northern California are also encouraged to apply. More information about this opportunity can be found here, New-Member-Solicitation-Flyer and for additional follow up, please direct questions to Jennifer.Gordon@cpuc.ca.gov
