Despite the bad weather, yesterday's kick-off of LAC’s 2027 Stewardship Campaign was a great success. Thanks to all of you who joined us for worship and for the family pancake brunch that followed in Russell Hall.
In case you missed it, our 2027 Stewardship Co-chairs, Anthony Mason and Bill Oleson, took a few moments at the beginning of worship to share the vision behind our theme for the season. "When we started talking about this year’s stewardship campaign, The Power of One," Anthony said, "I kept coming back to what that looks like in action at LAC. This church works because of...one person who shows up, one person who volunteers, one person who checks in on someone, one person who brings their kids to learn about compassion, and one person who sings, teaches, serves, or who simply makes someone else feel welcome. And when you put all those 'ones' together, you get LAC. That is really what stewardship means to me. But it’s also about deciding that this place matters enough to invest in."
Bill followed up with his own reflections on how each of us, as individuals, contributes to the mission we all share. "None of us gives in exactly the same way," Bill noted. "None of us has the same circumstances. And nobody is asking that. What we are asking is that each of us think about what LAC means in our lives and what we can do to help sustain it. Because one gift may not seem like it changes much. But one gift, joined by another, and another, and another…becomes everything we do together. That’s 'The Power of One.' So, as you consider your 2027 giving estimate, we ask you to make a commitment that is meaningful to you."
