Dear Rangers and Friends,
It is with deep respect and sorrow that we share the passing of Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Robert F. "Bob" Gilbert, Sr., who died peacefully at his home in Phenix City, Alabama, on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 95, surrounded by family.
CSM (Ret) Gilbert served our nation with honor for 31 years in the U.S. Army, including tours during the WWII era, and two tours each in Korea and Vietnam. An Airborne Infantry Ranger and 2013 inductee into the Ranger Hall of Fame, he exemplified courage, leadership, and lifelong commitment to country.

- Vance Brooks Funeral Home Chapel: Phenix City, AL
- Rev. Jonathan Merritt officiating
- Private interment will follow at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with full U.S. Army honors.
