August 2024

With a handful of service projects still remaining before school starts, we are reflecting on the amazing dedication of our youth volunteers this summer. Over 170 middle and high school students participated in YVCHR programs throughout the months of June, July and August, providing support to over two dozen local non-profit organizations, healthcare facilities, parks, and museums. These youth volunteers rolled up their sleeves and opened their hearts to address the many diverse needs of this community, and in the process, they gained valuable work and life skills while making meaningful connections with others.

As we prepare to launch our new program year on September 1st, we are excited to announce that in addition to celebrating our 15-year anniversary, we are also approaching 100,000 total hours of service since 2009! Stay tuned as we inch closer to this monumental milestone!

Celebrating 15 Years of Youth Service!

Since 2009, YVCHR has been committed to one mission: engaging youth in team-based service experiences that build life and work skills while inspiring a lifetime ethic of service. Our 15-year anniversary is an opportunity to demonstrate how YVCHR is LIGHTING THE WAY to a stronger, healthier, better connected, more productive and compassionate community through high-quality youth development and service learning efforts and effective collaboration. Join us as we celebrate the over 4,500 local youth who have invested nearly 100,000 volunteer hours into the Hampton Roads community.
