Toddler Program
Transition room is finishing up OWL Unit 3 "Wind and Water". Children enjoyed reading our stories "The Snowy Day", Gilberto and the Wind", "One Dark Night", and "Rabbits and Raindrops". We are working on following body and hand movements during our poems. This unit was super fun. The children explored wind through bubbles, and windmills. We learned alot about snow, making tracks and how snow melts. The children explored how to make tracks in the snow, sand, and shaving cream! We are excited and getting ready for our next unit "The World of Color".

Toddler Blue celebrated Valentine's Day and the 100th day of school. Through story time children are hearing about water and wind. They are loving the poems, especially, "My Big Balloon".

Toddler Green has continued to work on gross and fine motor skills through play. The children love book browsing time and are starting to share their books with other friends.
Pre K-1
This month we started Owl Unit 4: world of Colors. We are learning about patterns and recognizing our numbers. We learned about the letters S, L, and R. We also celebrated Valentine’s Day and the 100th day of school.
Pre-K 2
Pre-K2 has begun OWL Unit 4. Currently, children are working on their AB patterns.

Pre-K 3
In Pre-K 3, we have begun OWL Unit 4. In Unit 4, children learn about color. Color names, color mixing, saints, fading, camouflage, and color patterns are just a few topics covered. Through the story time books, children hear about a dog that stains his white coat, a lion who paints pictures, a boy who wants to buy a special shirt. In OWL we will be reading Max’s Dragon Shirt, Dog’s Colorful Day, Cat’s Colors, & The Lion & the Little Red Bird just to name a few. In addition to listening to stories, children will observe and explore color patterns. They will continue to learn about letters and sounds, including rhyming words. In Art, the children have painted with straws and made their own Dragon Shirts using primary colored paint. We celebrated our 100th day of school and Valentine’s Day. We are excited that Spring is around the corner and can’t wait to enjoy the warm weather!!!
K 1
K1 scholars have been busy working hard on new projects and concepts! We have begun building our reading fluency and have introduced new high-frequency words into our reading. Scholars have been practicing these words both at school and at home, which is helping us read more challenging books! We are also working hard on our math facts. We are exploring how to make ten by building equations with numbers 1-9. Scholars have been working with ten frames as a tool to support their thinking.
K 2
K2 enjoyed celebrating Valentine’s Day and our 100th day of school in February! We are addition masters and are ready to be subtraction superstars, and are loving our time learning to read together. We are taking time during Social Studies to study famous African Americans during Black History Month, and reading stories about their incredible accomplishments. Keep it up K2!
Grade 1
Fabulous in First
One Hundred Days and Counting
A goal for First Grade is to count to 100 both backwards and forwards. We begin our journey on the very first day of school. Each day we add to our tally counting up to 100, and then we take the time to count backward from 100 so that we will be prepared for the big day! We look know that on the 100th
This year in addition to the 100th day, we read about Chinese New Year, made our Valentine’s Day cards for each other and did a drum circle around our 100thday fireplace.

Grade 2
To wrap up Black History Month, the second grade students worked very hard on a collaborative mural of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.! Each student carefully completed three pages of the mural. It now proudly hangs in the elementary hallway!
Grade 3/4
Grades 3/4 have been learning about energy.  Students learned about storing, releasing, and transferring energy. In the activity, Build a Chain Reaction (Part II), students completed the chain-reaction machine they started building in Energizing Everything Lesson 4.
