Covid-19 has definitely affected all of us both personally and professionally. In September, schools are planning to start in-person classes and some offices are starting to have people work in the offices. Note that both of these scenarios are extremely different from our regular worlds as we know it - offices have a mask policy for any shared space and only 1 out of every 4 chairs in a meeting room is open for use. Schools are also requiring masks and limiting things like sharing toys or school supplies and lunches may be at their desks.
Small business owners are starting to enjoy some one on one meetings on patios where you can sit back from the table and be close to 6 feet apart. Remember that many business owners may not be ready to socialize in-person due to their own health concerns, family health concerns or overall risk adversity.
In-person business networking group meetings are probably still off in the future.
Just for reference - a community centre in Mississauga has said 16 people can use a room for 50 people (with social distancing). Restaurants seem to be limiting groups to 6 people. The majority of the groups at a restaurant are from the same house or maybe from two houses.
BCX has continued the group meetings by using zoom. Everyone is encouraged to continue to do their one on one networking as well.
Please take advantage of the BCX social media groups on facebook (Business Connection Exchange), linked in (Business Connection Exchange) and twitter (BCXGroup). Please post tips and articles and events. The links are listed below.
