Teacher Professional Development Updates - Aug 11, 2025

Fall 2025 Block 1 Registration is Open for 12 New Drops Aug 11 - Aug 25

Hello Teachers!

Registration is open for 12 new "drops" (Professional Teaching Standards Board-approved Continuing Education courses), co-developed by the College of Education and 2Revolutions through the Governor's RIDE initiative for current Wyoming teachers for Block 1 of the Fall 2025 semester.

Each drop is worth one PTSB-approved Continuing Education credit (CEC) that can be used towards recertification - the credit appears on an official UW transcript but is not applicable towards a degree. EDCI 5959 Continuing Education drops are offered in the University of Wyoming WyoLearn Catalog (please see the links below). While most courses are priced at $160, select pilot classes are still available at the introductory rate of $60. Please see below for pricing.

Registration for Block 1 is open from August 11 through August 25 and Block 2 will be open from September 22 through October 13. Block 1 opens August 25 and teachers will have 8 weeks to complete each drop. "Explore" drops are also available for those who want to sample the materials without paying the enrollment fee for earning credit.

***Refunds for drops are not guaranteed so please do not sign up for more than you have time to complete.

Teachers completing three drops are eligible to complete a capstone course (EDCI 5480) for two University of Wyoming graduate credit hours. These credits can count toward the Curriculum and Instruction M.A. program. You must have completed at least three drops to be eligible for the graduate credit option.

Timeline for EDCI 5480 Capstone Enrollment:

1.   Complete three PTSB-approved EDCI 5959 Continuing Education drops offered in the University of Wyoming WyoLearn Catalog (please see the links below).

2.   Complete a brief Qualtrics survey to receive information on admission and registration.

3.   Apply for admission as a "Non-Degree Graduate (Online)" and register for either the Summer 2025 or Fall 2025 EDCI 5480 capstone.
