Premiere Reminder

If you are receiving this, it is because you have confirmed your attendance at the world premiere of "Shikata Ga Nai," on Sunday, December 29th, 2024, at the Moanalua High School Performing Arts Center (PAC), located at 2825 Ala Ilima Street, Honolulu, HI 96818 (see photo below). At this writing, we have totally SOLD OUT the event, meaning all 694 seats in the theater have been reserved. Therefore you are highly encouraged to arrive early. The PAC doors will open at 1:00 pm. A 15-minute slide show on the making of the movie will loop from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm, after which there will be a brief welcome and introduction, and then the movie will begin. If you have any questions, people will be there to help you.

Checking In

For those who have purchased tickets through the Eventbrite site. Please show your tickets (whether downloaded to your phone or as a printed hard copy) at the door. Those who were not able to obtain their tickets (or forgot to bring them), don't worry, we'll have a list of all confirmed attendees at the check-in table. Say your name, or the name of the person who bought your tickets (if it wasn't you), and the checkers will check you in. NOTE: If you purchased many tickets under your name and will not be entering with your party, please tell your people to go to the check-in table, and, again, tell the checker they fall under your name.

For those who have been provided complimentary tickets. These are predominantly given to members of the Nisei Veterans Legacy, or, are provided by Yellow Brick Studio to members of the cast and crew. If your ticket is complimentary, please report to the check-in tables and let them know you (and your guest if you said you were bringing one) are here.

For those who will be paying for their tickets at the door. If you were advised that you could pay for your tickets when you arrive, go to the table that says "Will Call," tell them your name and pay for your tickets.

Seating arrangements. Everything is open seating, except that there will be reserved seating for cast and crew and volunteers. Because we are expecting that every seat will be filled, when you do take your seat, please fill in the empty spaces between parties. It will save us time in getting everyone seated.

Parking

Coming from Puuloa Road, take a right from Salt Lake Boulevard onto Ala Napunani Street. Then take the first right onto Ala Ilima Street. This will take you onto the Moanalua High School campus. You will immediately see the Performing Arts Center on your left. Continue on and park anywhere within the parking lot that fronts the building. In the event that the lot is full, circle back to Ala Napunani Street, turn right, drive past the roundabout and take another right onto campus again to access the overflow parking area. Park and find your way back to the theater (see campus map below). All parking (main lot and overflow) is FREE. Because we are expecting a full house, while we are told by the PAC that the lots will accommodate all, everyone is encouraged to car pool.

Talk Back

"Shikata Ga Nai" runs for just short of one hour and 50 minutes. At its conclusion, after a brief recess so those that need to leave can exit, the cast and crew will be available for questions and answers. Please stay if you are interested. The Q&A will last for as long as there are questions, but will generally conclude after 30-40 minutes, as everyone needs to exit the center by 5:00 pm.

Pass The Word

A number of you purchased tickets for many others under your name and email. Hence, these others won't be receiving this email directly. Please forward this to the rest of your party so that they are apprised of this information. If they do not have an email, please contact them and convey this to them personally. Mahalo.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you!
