City of Gilroy says NIMBY!
Are you tuned into the environmental impact of Sand and Gravel mining? In a largely symbolic move, the Gilroy City Council voted unanimously against the Sargent Mine project, a proposed 400-acre pit mine being considered by the County. The project is being opposed due to negative impacts on air quality, traffic, biological corridors, sacred tribal lands and more. Proponents argue the alternative is continued importing of Canadian sand/gravel -- at 400% greater carbon impact.
Like it or not, construction and mining affect our environment. Using DirtGlue® Industrial polymers instead of concrete and asphalt lessens our environmental impact, makes more beautiful roadways and preserves natural environments. Whole subdivisions, parking lots, roadways, and more have been “paved” using nothing but native soils and DirtGlue®. Contact us for more information on your next construction project.
