JOIN THE SUMMER CHOIR AT ST. JAMES

Summer is here and the St. James Choir sings for Sunday morning services through July 23rd. If you are musically inclined and enjoy singing, please consider joining us for a "no-commitment" opportunity to join this vital ministry. Summer choir begins SUNDAY JUNE 25th and goes through SUNDAY July 23rd. Meet at 9:15 a.m. in the choir room for a thirty minute rehearsal of the service music and anthems, then sing the 10:00 a.m. service with us. We will provide music and vestments! For additional information, contact Director of Music Brad Gee at 694-6925 or email Brad@StJamesEpiscopal.com.

On our final Sunday exploring Mental Health, we welcome Betsy White of our local NAMI chapter to discuss support for families and people experiencing mental health issues. Join us at 9 a.m. in the Trinity Room.

Join us on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5960851208

Join us for our midweek healing Holy Eucharist at noon every Wednesday in the Chapel. This service lasts no longer than 45 minutes so anyone can attend, either on a lunch break or in the midst of running errands.

Gluten free wafers are available during communion for those with celiac disease or medical issues. You may request this gluten free option at communion from the priest.

Ministry & Fellowship

St. James will be present at the Hendersonville Pride Picnic on Saturday, June 10, from noon to 5 p.m. along with several other welcoming religious communities including our fellow Episcopalians at Calvary Fletcher. St. James is a safe place for all to worship and experience God's welcoming and unconditional love, and we want our LGBTQ siblings to know that. Contact Mindy for more details or to sign up for a shift at the St. James booth.

Registration for the Crawfish Boil is closed.

Thanks to all who registered. We are excited to see everyone next Saturday, June 10 at 4 p.m.!

Join your parish family for a Crawfish Boil with all the fixins on Saturday, June 10 from 4-7 p.m. This is a time for church-wide fellowship with music, games and fun for the whole family! We’ll have Louisiana crawfish with potatoes and corn, salad, and the most delicious sides catered by Daddy D’s Soulfood Restaurant. For more info, email Laurie Parkerson.

Yoga classes will meet all Wednesdays in June. We will not meet in July but will resume on Wednesday, Aug. 9. We are offering two classes:  Focused 45 and Chair Yoga. Focused 45 will start at 9:30 a.m. with participants arriving and getting settled at 9:20. Focused 45 is very active and offers a wide range of unassisted movements and poses. Participants for Chair Yoga will arrive at 10:20 to set up for a 10:30 class start time. Chair yoga offers the support of the chair for participants and the use of the chair as a prop for those who want to stand for certain poses. Contact the instructor, Dianne Hunter, for any questions. Register here, email Teri Smith, or call 828-694-6938.

Can You Do Dinner for Our Youth?

One way to continue to support Christoph and his ministry is by being involved! We need folks who will provide dinner for about 10-12 folks whenever we have EYC. Please stay and eat with our students. They are awesome. Teenagers eat most anything and right now we have no one with food allergies. Pizza, tacos, sandwiches, and a vegetarian option for Christoph! Contact David+ to sign up. Dates are: Sunday, June 4, Wednesday, June 14, and Wednesday, June 28, all at 5:30 p.m.

Registration is open for Vacation Bible School on June 26-29 from 9 a.m. to noon each day. This year's theme is “Tree of Healing!” Hosted by Trinity Presbyterian with the help of Grace Lutheran and St. James Episcopal Churches, VBS is open to children entering Pre-K through 5th grade. Students finishing 6th grade and up are welcome to volunteer. Email Diane King or call 828-674-1461 for more info.
