Hi Watershed Stewards,
It is with sincere gratitude I write to inform you that I am transitioning away from my role as the Community Science Assistant with the Metroparks. Thank you all for being such amazing stewards to our watersheds. I have greatly enjoyed working with you on monitoring endeavors ranging from macroinvertebrate monitoring, chemistry monitoring, habitat monitoring, pilot projects and LEBAF monitoring over these past few years. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects with such amazing people. Your curiosity, engagement, and commitment to monitoring served as a inspiration to me throughout my time.
I would like to take time to recognize the WVP team and our partners for hosting and assisting with monitoring projects throughout my time working at the Metroparks. As I transition, I am glad to know that you'll be in good hands with future monitoring opportunities. I hope you all take care. Happy holidays. I hope to see you all around in the near future.
Best,
Bre Turner
Community Science Assistant

(S) NEO Master Rain Gardener Fall/Winter 2023 Online Course
Self Paced Course @ Online, registration through Dec 31, 2023
This Master Rain Gardener Program will teach you how to manage rain water in your own yard. Rain gardens naturally manage stormwater by infiltrating precipitation and allowing it to soak into the ground rather than sending it directly to storm sewers and nearby streams untreated. Experienced instructors will provide customized feedback which will enable you to design and install a rain garden. Topics will include site assessment, soil analysis, design, construction, plant selection, mulching, and maintenance.
The Residential Certification is geared toward homeowners who would like to install a rain garden in their own yard and serve as the neighborhood expert on rain gardens.
Professional Certification Classes are also available
More Details and Registration Here Cost $50
