We are thrilled to share the highlights from our recent virtual August membership meetings held on August 1 and 2, 2024 via Zoom. These sessions provided invaluable insights and fostered collaboration among our members.
On August 1, we kicked off the day with a Best Practice Training featuring Dr. Eric Ward, CEO of Family Counseling Service. His presentation, “Mitigating a Community Mental Health Crisis: When Partnership Works,” addressed the pressing issues surrounding mental health workforce shortages and innovative approaches to combat these challenges. Following Dr. Ward, Rita Potter, Executive Director, and Gene Stephens, Associate Director of the Open Door Rehabilitation Center, shared their expertise in “Innovative Strategies for a Changing Workforce.” Their discussion focused on strategies for building a quality workforce in today's dynamic environment.
The following day, our Business Meeting provided a platform for ACMHAI leadership, standing committees, and IPHA representative to present updates and reports. Notably, we also heard from Deborah Humphrey, Executive Director of the Madison County Mental Health Board and Julieanne Buck, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Grundy County during the community reports portion of the agenda as they shared recent initiatives and activities from their organizations.
For those who could not attend, we invite you to catch up on all the insights shared during these sessions. Click on the links below for the archived recording and slide decks from the training.
