TRINITY SUNDAY

June 15, 2025

This Sunday Rev. Dr. Peter Bynum

will preach a sermon entitled "When Grace Breaks In"

based on Romans 5:1-5.

Join us in worship at 10 am.

You can join us in person or via livestream

on Facebook, YouTube, or our Livestream page.

In Our Prayers

  • We continue to pray for the families of Laura Torrisi and Adriana Jervis. May the Lord bless them and keep them in this time of grief and loss.

  • We pray for Peg and Bob Mayo and their family as they celebrate the life and resurrection of their son Michael Scott Mayo tomorrow (June 14th) at 11:00 am in the sanctuary.

  • We offer our prayers for peace, patience, and understanding around the protests and demonstrations taking place around our country. May God bless and strengthen the better angels of our nature, and may we all work to see the sacred image of God in all people, regardless of color, creed, or social station.

  • Lori Godwin asks for prayers for Harry, the son of her friend Jane, who is back in the hospital.

Do you have a prayer request to share with our LAC community? Call our prayer line at (914) 834-1800, ext. 342.

A Fun Time Was Had by All!

LAC's 2025 Family Picnic

Thank you to all of our Deacons and the picnic led by Liz Nabholz and Kristen Carpenter, as well as Pat Allen (LAC's Welcoming Committee), who put together a joyful celebration for our LAC family.

A special thank you to...

... all of the volunteers who were here early on a Sunday morning to help set up and prepare

... everyone who contributed to the delicious potluck, too.

And, it would not be a celebration without everyone who joined in on the day -- so thank you all for coming!

It's a Wrap!

LAC Youth Group celebrated the year with a fun end-of-year party -- the pictures tell the story! Thank you to the Manice family for opening their home to our wonderful youth group.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September and wish each of our young people a safe and rewarding summer.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!

This August, FORTY(!!!) joyful, curious, and energetic kids will come running through the doors of LAC for our second summer of Compassion Camp. What a blessing these children are to our church! However, by no means is this an easy task. It takes A LOT of preparation. This work is holy and sacred, and it’s messy! It’s loud! It is kinetic and creative, and most of all, IT IS WORTH IT. Last summer’s Compassion Camp was such a success because of the faithful and caring dedication of the volunteers.

Last year, Liz Nabholz organized recreation time. “What I thought might be a challenging experience turned into a very rewarding one,” said Liz. “The kids were well-behaved and I am so glad I got to know them!”

Louise Williams helped with various hands-on learning activities. “The program was great—important themes, well-organized schedules, lots of support, and teamwork. The mornings were full!” said Louise. “I really enjoyed working with our enthusiastic young campers and meeting some of the parents. I’m looking forward to lots more fun this summer!”

Patty Towle's nature activities were a big hit! "It was so great to work with these amazing kids, and I felt I had a whole team to support me with my projects," said Patty. "One thing particularly uplifting was the spirited and loving vibe going on as we all shared this experience."

Compassion Camp 2025: Changing the World with Loving-Kindness is just around the corner, and we need YOU to help make it the best week of the summer! Whether you're a master of crafts, a snack-time superstar, a game guru, or just someone who loves seeing kids grow in faith, joy, and compassion, there's a place for you here. There is no advanced preparation, and you can help as little or as much as your schedule allows - a few hours, just one day, or more -- please join us!

What we love the most about LAC is the love that you all have for its children, so together let’s continue to live out our promise to be active participants in building a community where children are nurtured and loved!

If you have any questions, please contact Anna Grace Claunch at agclaunch@lacny.org.

LAC Food Connection

The LAC Food Connection, under the auspices of the Deacons, provides occasional meals for our members who might have surgery or something that prevents them from cooking themselves. Please contact lacoffice@lacny.org to offer your help. We will add you to our list of volunteers.

And be sure to look for the donation box in the LAC Forest Park entrance foyer, too.
