Surviving the Holidays: GriefShare

Sunday, November 8

2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

In the Treehouse, Bldg C 201

It can be very difficult getting into the "holiday spirit" after the loss of a loved one as the heaviness and sadness can

consume you enough to dread or avoid holiday festivities.

Join us for this free 2 hour in-person GriefShare program, "Surviving the Holidays" which offers coping skills and tools to support you as you navigate the holidays. This program is led by our own GriefShare facilitators and is open to anyone who has suffered a human loss, no matter how long ago your loved one passed. We hope you’ll join us! All are welcome.

November is National Family Caregiver's Month

We recognize and honor the millions of caregivers in our country.

63 million American adults provide ongoing care to adults or children with a medical condition or disability, almost one-quarter of all adults in the US which is an increase of 45 percent since 2015!  An AARP study found that 51% of family caregivers find their role gives them a sense of meaning and purpose, however caregiving can contribute to high levels of physical, financial, emotional and mental stress. President Clinton, who claimed this National recognition for caregivers, called them "everyday heroes” who make an extraordinary contribution to the quality of life of their loved ones.

Thank you for all that you do as it can be a thankless job.

Coping with Caregiving

Online Support for Caregivers

Meets via Zoom monthly

Join us on Sunday, November 15 to share your struggles but also to gain valuable insights and resources in this safe space.

Honoring our Veterans

Veterans Day falls on November 11 and we are proud and honored to recognize ALL those who have served our country. We appreciate each and every millitary serviceman or woman for their hard work and sacrifices on our behalf. At St. Luke's, we are blessed to have a Veterans Card Ministry which has a strong group of dedicated women who gather four times a year to hand write cards to Veterans. Thank you for your commitment to honor veterans.

If you are interested in joining the Veteran Card Ministry, please contact the Care Office.

Blue Christmas Service

Sunday, December 20

4:30 p.m. - Founder's Hall

The holiday season can be difficult for many—especially those experiencing grief, job loss, illness, feeling down, being away from family, or any other hardship. Join us for this time of reflection, hope, and healing.

This service offers peace and renewal through music, prayer, and community as you experience the comforting presence of God. All are welcome.

THANK YOU to St. Luker and dermatologist Dr. Allison Arthur for her recent presentation on the harmful effects of the sun, understanding normal skin variations, and how to recognize skin cancers early. Did you know?

  • Skin Cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S.
  • 1 in 5 people will develop skin cancer before the age of 70
  • Women who test positive for the BRCA gene are at higher risk for skin cancer.
  • Regular self-assessments of your skin is vital - Know the ABCDE's: Assymetry, Border, Color, Diameter, Evolving

We encourage you to arrange annual appointments with a dermatologist

so you can be proactive in your skin care.
