AHFA Networks with Lenders at MBAAL Convention

AHFA was honored to attend the Mortgage Bankers Association of Alabama’s 2026 Convention. The event provided opportunities for networking, education, and collaboration within the mortgage industry.

AHFA’s Business Development team — Alana Beaugez, Tony Lee, Karlin Aultman, and Daun Long — enjoyed connecting with lenders and industry partners. Alana Beaugez, AHFA Business Development Specialist, also spoke about AHFA’s First Step, Step Up, and AHFA Kids programs and how these initiatives help families and communities across Alabama.

AHFA hosted an information and swag table where lenders learned more about our affordable housing programs and resources. We value MBAAL’s continued partnership as we work together to expand homeownership opportunities across Alabama.

‘Women of Influence’ Gather

As part of the MBAAL convention, AHFA representatives attended a “Women of Influence” event which focused on leadership, resilience and community impact. The session featured inspiring remarks from industry leaders. AHFA’s Alana Beaugez and Karlin Aultman, who serve on the MBAAL Board, represented AHFA throughout the convention.

Empowering Young Girls with Real‑World Money Skills in Atmore

AHFA partnered with Prima Girl Mentorship in Atmore for a hands-on financial literacy class designed to engage and inspire young girls. At the invitation of Marlo Young, AHFA team members Cathy James and Daun Long led a colonial-themed lesson introducing concepts like value, trade, and barter through interactive activities inspired by AHFA Kids’ “Bud’s Field Trip to American Village.”

The session helped students connect history to real-life money skills, and AHFA is grateful for opportunities to invest in Alabama’s youth through education and community partnerships.

Bringing History and Money Lessons to Life for Young Learners

AHFA Kids visited the Autauga-Prattville Public Library for a fun, hands-on lesson inspired by America’s 250th birthday. Through activities based on Bud’s Field Trip to American Village, students explored concepts like value, trade, and barter while learning how people lived before modern money systems. The session blended storytelling, games, and movement to bring history and financial literacy to life.

AHFA appreciates the invitation from Children and Youth Services and is proud to continue helping young learners grow through engaging educational experiences.
