We are thrilled to share an update on Thurston, the beloved 12-year-old outdoor cat who captured the heart of his neighbor, Lorraine, who took him in as a Forever Foster with JSCR. This lovable bundle of white fluff had a fair share of health challenges ahead of him.
His echocardiogram revealed a heart murmur, a condition that, while concerning, can be managed with proper care and attention. The good news is that there were no further complications detected beyond the murmur. Hurray!
With his heart health established, Thurston underwent surgery to address a few different issues. He had entropion surgery to correct an eyelid that was causing discomfort and irritation to his eye. He also had a dental, during which four problematic teeth were removed. While under anesthesia, he had a biopsy on his ear to check for cancer and had a painful mole removed. After all of that, we are happy to report Thurston is on the path to recovery!
Throughout this journey, Thurston has shown remarkable resilience and spirit. With ongoing care and attention from his fosters, Thurston will continue enjoying his new life and brightening our days with his presence. His fosters are deeply grateful for the support of the June’s Army. Without you, Thurston’s story would have had a very different outcome. Thank you for giving Thurston the fairy tale ending he truly deserves.
Please enjoy the photos of Thurston in his crown (aka the cone) and of him living his best life.
