"The secret of getting ahead is getting started." – Mark Twain

March is all about wellness and getting things done in Advisory! This month, students are diving into the Eight Dimensions of Wellness — emotional, physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, financial, and occupational. Each one represents an important part of who we are and how we take care of ourselves. Students will spend time talking about these areas and choosing ones they’d like to strengthen. It’s a great opportunity for them to reflect on what helps them feel balanced, confident, and ready to take on challenges.

We’re also focusing on the executive functioning skill of task initiation — that first step of getting started. Students are practicing ways to overcome procrastination by prioritizing what’s most important, turning off distractions, and breaking bigger tasks into smaller steps. A little momentum goes a long way!

By combining wellness and task initiation this month, we’re helping students build strong habits that support success in and out of the classroom.
