B.A.S.I.C.S. of Our Faith Begins Tonight

As our 8th-grade confirmation class begins, we know some adults might want a class that addresses the same core lessons. Pastor Sigrid is offering a three-week opportunity to (re)discover the B.A.S.I.C.S. of our faith. Each week, we’ll explore two topics on our Christian faith. Join Pastor Sigrid on Wednesday, October 21, 28, and November 4, from 5:45–7 pm in the Middle School Room.

Blood Drive - October 22

Our Mission Board is hosting its quarterly blood drive on Thursday, October 22, from noon to 6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Please consider giving the gift of life.

Pilgrimage to the Southern Border

Plans are shaping up for the January 2027 Pilgrimage to the Southern U.S. Border. Come hear about it, offer insights, and share stories with Global Ministries Network on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 6:30 pm on Zoom. More than a journey to another place, this pilgrimage invites us into relationships formed by listening, learning, compassion, and shared joy.

Outdoor Work Day

Join the Board of Building & Grounds on Saturday, October 24, for our fall outdoor maintenance day with a focus on pruning. Hours are 9 am—noon, but drop by whenever you can! You are very appreciated!

Holly Day Bazaar - November 7

Mark your calendars for the 38th WCUCC Holly Day Craft Bazaar on November 7. We need lots of volunteers to make it a success. Please consider helping. It's always a great day!

Parents & grandparents - bring your kiddos to Mrs Claus' Children's Shop so they can shop for friends and family.

Gather & Groove on November 20

Enjoy a night of food, fellowship, fun, and dancing at this year’s dinner dance, now rebranded by Parish Life as Gather and Groove. You’ll get all the fun of previous dinner dances at a fraction of the cost! And here’s one more reason to say yes: wear what makes you happy! Whether that’s your favorite party outfit or a comfortable pair of jeans, come as you are and feel at home. Mark your calendar for November 20 and join us as we gather and groove!

Support Survivors of Trafficking

The Wednesday Noon Bible Study, which studies women in the Bible, is supporting Freedom a la Cart, a Columbus nonprofit that helps survivors of trafficking find housing, treatment, food, and employment. With help from our Mission Board and personal donations, we’re providing tampons for the women it serves. Donations are welcome! Contact Jo Atwood or Pastor Sigrid to learn more.

Play Hand Chimes With the Bell Choir

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to play in our WCUCC Bell Choir? Would you like to try playing just a one-time anthem? If so, you are in luck! Our bell choir is planning a special piece on December 20 and is looking for lots of extra players to play hand chimes. Anyone from 7th grade up is welcome to play. The music is easy, and the parts are marked, so you don't need to know how to read music. The bell choir will teach you how to sound like a pro with just two Monday practices on December 7 and 14 at 7 pm. If you would like to participate, contact director Debbie Barkhurst.

On November 1, we will celebrate All Saints' Sunday at Westerville Community United Church of Christ. If you have lost a loved one within the last year, we would like to honor them during a special part of our worship service.

If you wish for us to lift up your loved one by sharing their name and photo and lighting a candle in their memory, please email Debbie Kellogg by October 26. Please provide your loved one's name as you'd like it to appear in the bulletin and include a photograph we can share during the service. If you would like to drop off a photo at church or mail it to us, we will digitize it and return it to you. We look forward to remembering the saints who have gone before us.

In our effort to be more accessible, we have installed new hearing assistive technology in our sanctuary. ListenWIFI is used at major Columbus venues, including the Ohio Theatre, Palace Theatre, and OSU. The system allows people to listen to worship through their own smartphones and Bluetooth hearing aids or headphones, with the ability to adjust the volume to their individual needs. Listen in three easy steps!

  1. Download the “ListenWIFI” app on your mobile device.
  2. While in the sanctuary, connect to the Wi-Fi network named WCUCC-LISTEN. Password: wcucclisten
  3. Open the ListenWIFI app and tap “Tap Here To Listen.”

Alex Goetz will be available in the Narthex to help you get connected this Sunday, October 25, from 11:15–11:30 am.

If you've tried the app, please let us know how it is working for you by clicking here.
