The Black Madonna represents the African origins of humanity

and the original mother of Earth's children. HER story is OUR story.

57 Years Ago - in March 1967 the chancery mural of the Black Madonna was unveiled on Easter Sunday in Detroit, MI. The mural was painted by artist-activist Glanton Dowdell. Black Madonna murals and statues can be found in countries throughout the world including the US in Detroit, MI, Atlanta GA. and Houston, TX.

RE-IMAGINING BCN

As we initiate a formal process for re-imagining BCN, it must begin with a well-developed succession plan that can effectively support the institutional framework and broad scope of our organization. It must include a method to regularly assess our operations, program, and mission as they intersect with our core values, theology, theory, and practices. Let YOUR voice be heard by participating in a brief questionnaire to share YOUR vision of BCN re-imagined.
