Attention Senior Parents

Cap and Gown Graduation Announcement Order Packets

Jostens is coming during lunch on Tuesday, December 17th to collect completed orders.  Seniors do not need to pay right now, but they must submit their completed orders on Tuesday. If you have any questions, please contact the Jostens rep Mike Annis. Mr. Plank has extra forms if anyone needs them.

ICS Music Concert
The ICS Music program will be presenting its Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 18th at 7pm at Lake Washington High School. Please come and support ICS Musicians in the band, choir and orchestra. If you have any questions, contact Tania Bennett. We hope to see you there!

Principal Chat December 20th at 7:30 AM
Please join us for this month's Principal Chat with Dr. Livingston on Friday morning, December 20th, from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM in the ICS Lyceum.  Coffee and snacks will be served by the PTSA. The format is "open agenda", so bring your questions and concerns.

9-10th Grade Team Wins in Math is Cool Masters
An ICS team of 9-10th graders went to the Math is Cool Masters competition in Moses Lake on Saturday, Dec 7 and won the 1st Place Team Award in the Div 1 category. Kartik Iyer and Steve Li won 2nd place and 3rd place individual trophies. Congratulations to Mitica Manu (Coach) and the students participating (Steve/Kartik/Ariana/Alex).
ICS Alumni - Linkedin Group
Stay in touch with your classmates by joining the ICS Alumni group on Linkedin. It is a group for ICS Alumni, current Seniors and staff members only. You can send a request to join if you are a ICS Senior or ICS Alumni or a staff member.

Purchase your ICS Spirit Socks
The FBLA will be selling Spirit Socks. These socks will be a great new addition to our student clothing lines. Stylish socks have become somewhat of a fashion trend - we hope this new trend inspires a fresh sense of ICS community. Spirit Socks will appeal to students of all ages, and can be great holiday gifts for the family. Please support this student fundraiser by pre-ordering your Spirit Socks today! Here is the order form. For questions, please contact Helen Henry. Order forms and money can be turned into the office or Mrs. Henry's room. Please make checks payable to ICS FBLA.
Join the ICS Running Club
The ICS Running Club will start again in 2014 on the first day back to school Jan. 6. Here are the details.
  • We will run twice a week: Mondays, 2:20 - 3:15 pm, and Wednesdays, 12:20 - 1:15 pm.
  • We'll meet in the Lyceum at the times listed above and then head out to run. Participants will need to be wearing weather-appropriate clothing and be ready by the start of practice.
  • We will  be running in the neighborhoods around the school campus.

Parents will need to complete the waiver and field trip forms for their children to be able to participate. Please make sure your children bring the signed forms to the first day of practice.

Volunteering
Call for Parent Circle Moderator Volunteers
The Community Building Committee wants to initiate Parent Circles by grade level starting in January. The objective of the Parent Circles is to provide a moderated forum for parents to share experiences and best practices. Parent Circles allow you to meet the other parents within the same grade level as your child and the next grade level for the experienced viewpoint. We are still looking for moderators for the following: 1 more for 6th, 11th and 12th grades; 2 for 8th, 9th, 10th grades. Those who volunteer to be moderators will need to attend a one-hour facilitator training. Total time commitment will be about 6-8 hours to attend the training, send invitations, respond to parent inquiries, and facilitate the parent circle on the scheduled day. If you are interested, please contact Helen Valmeo-Yang.
Legislative Corner
Volunteers Needed
This is a great opportunity to get your ICS volunteer hours, know your neighbors, and help inform and educate your community about school funding issues. We need volunteers to help distribute campaign materials with information about upcoming bond and levy proposals ahead of the February elections. Most of the time commitment will be in January. If interested please contact Namita Paul.
